Marakkar Lion of the Arabian Sea is the upcoming and much-anticipated movie of the king of the Malayalam film industry Mohanlal and recently it was confirmed that the cinema will be released on Thursday instead of the OTT platform. The cinema already postponed a couple of times due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and now it is said that the movie will be released on August 12.
Well, now it is confirmed that the big-budget cinema of the Malayalam film industry will be exclusive for three weeks on over 600 screens in Kerala. The Film Exhibitors’ United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) and the Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) jointly made the decision to bring back the Malayalam film industry on the track after the hit hard by the Corona.
It is worth mentioning that the cinema now rescheduled for the fourth time, as it was believed to be released on March 26, 2020, but the outbreak of the coronavirus made the filmmakers postpone the release. Then it was set to release on March 26, 2021, and again coronavirus played its move and then the movie is set to release on May 13 and now the movie has been postponed once again.
Having said that, the upcoming Marakkar Lion of the Arabian Sea already bagged National Award for the best feature film of 2019. The movie also received awards for the best special effects and best costume design.
The movie is directed by the veteran director Priyadarshan, the cinema features a rich cast of Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Suniel Shetty, Keerthi Suresh, Arjun Sarja, Suhasini, Prabhu, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Mukesh, Pranav Mohanlal, and Kalyani Priyadarshan.
The plot of the upcoming Marakkar Lion of the Arabian Sea is the period-drama is set in 16th century and the same is based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the naval chief of the Zamorin.
